Before the system collapses.
Structural burnout prevention for leaders and entrepreneurs across the DACH region.
Burnout is not the end of a journey but the symptom of a broken architecture. We work with top decision-makers before the system collapses — proactive, structural, methodologically deep. Polyvagal theory, sleep architecture, energy periodisation, boundary engineering. Confidential. Values-based. In Salzburg, Munich, Zurich, Innsbruck and within a 150 km impact radius.

Burnout is not personal failure — it is a systemic signal.
The most important insight that almost no one says publicly.
We live in a culture that individualises burnout. "You need to regulate yourself better", "more yoga", "more mindfulness", "more self-care". These are all valid building blocks — but they obscure the structural truth.
Burnout does not arise because a person is too weak. Burnout arises because the architecture — the architecture of the day, the role, the relationships, the sleep, the nervous system — no longer carries what has to be carried. At C-level the load is often enormous. Responsibility, stakeholder complexity, decision density, emotional demands, hours of sitting, poor sleep, missing co-regulation. If this architecture is not built consciously, it eventually collapses — sometimes after months, often after years.
Prevention means: building the architecture consciously and structurally before it collapses. That is the work we do. We analyse the entire system — sleep, nervous system, daily rhythm, relational energy, boundary architecture, self-image, value pressure. We intervene at the decisive levers. We build a system with you that does not collapse when the next pressure arrives.
Burnout prevention is the most economical form of coaching a company can engage in. A burnout case in the DACH region costs an average of €96,000 — prevention is a fraction of that. But that is only the economic side. The human side is: a person who does not break.
The 6 early warning signs nobody wants to see.
Burnout never arrives by surprise. But it is often overlooked.
SLEEP EROSION
You are sleeping worse without any clear reason. Trouble falling asleep, early waking, less deep sleep. Over weeks. This is not "normal stress" — this is your nervous system no longer switching off.
IRRITABILITY & EMOTIONAL BREVITY
You react faster. To small things. To people you actually like. Patience grows shorter, tone harder. The people around you notice before you do.
RECOVERY LATENCY
Weekends are no longer enough to recharge. Holidays only start working in the last two days. You return exhausted. The recovery architecture is broken.
CYNICISM AND EROSION OF MEANING
What used to motivate you leaves you cold. Successes feel empty. You ask yourself what for. This is not philosophical maturity — it is an early warning sign.
PHYSICAL SIGNALS
Tension, headaches, stomach problems, tinnitus, skin reactions. The body reports what the psyche suppresses. Take it seriously — the body does not lie.
COGNITIVE FOG
You take longer for decisions that used to come easily. Your attention fragments. Words escape you. This is not age or stress — it is an overloaded cognitive bandwidth.
If you recognise two or more of these signs in yourself, coaching is no longer an option — it is a question of responsibility. Toward yourself, your company and the people who depend on your condition.
Who is at risk — and who especially.
Certain profiles are statistically far more exposed.
- ✓Founders and solo CEOs in scaling phases (Series A through C)
- ✓CFOs and CEOs in restructuring or crisis phases
- ✓Senior leaders in long-distance relationships or difficult relationship settings
- ✓Patrons / matriarchs in succession (on both sides)
- ✓High-performer profiles with unresolved value-system conflicts
- ✓Leadership personalities in industries with chronically high demand load (finance, tech, healthcare, hospitality, consulting)
- ⚡Poor sleep over more than 4 weeks
- ⚡Lack of co-regulation (no trusted mirror in the environment)
- ⚡High sympathetic baseline tone (chronic hyper-vigilance)
- ⚡Boundary weakness regarding requests, expectations, calendar
- ⚡Identification with the role ("I am my function")
- ⚡Hidden self-worth dynamics (need to prove, hunger for recognition)
The more of these factors that converge, the more important proactive work becomes. Not reactive crisis intervention. Prevention.
Six pillars, one system.
The methodological architecture of our burnout prevention work.
SLEEP ARCHITECTURE
Sleep is the most important and most underestimated performance variable. We work on sleep hygiene, deep-sleep promotion, wake-sleep rhythm and sleep quality as diagnostics.
NERVOUS-SYSTEM REGULATION
Polyvagal theory as the framework. Vagus activation, breath work, embodiment, co-regulation. We move your baseline tone from chronic sympathetic activation into ventral-vagal stability.
ENERGY PERIODISATION
Like an elite athlete — not "more output" but "smarter periodisation". Tudor Bompa and Joe Friel as the foundation. Load, recovery, adaptation. Across day, week, quarter, year.
BOUNDARY ENGINEERING
Weak boundaries are the most common structural cause of burnout. We build a system of inner and outer boundaries with you — toward calendar, requests, expectations and your own demands.
IDENTITY & VALUE PRESSURE
Burnout often emerges where identity collides with lived reality. Who am I without my role? Which values am I carrying that harm my system? Deep work at the identity level.
RECOVERY DESIGN
Micro-recovery (hours), daily recovery (sleep), weekly recovery (weekends), quarterly recovery (sabbatical elements), yearly recovery (holidays that genuinely restore). Deliberately designed.
What burnout costs — and what prevention costs.
An honest economic calculation.
One burnout case
- —€96,000 average direct cost per case (continued pay, knowledge loss, recruiting)
- —1.5 to 2x annual salary to refill a top position
- —9 to 12 months of productivity loss (before, during and after the absence)
- —Incalculable relationship damage — privately and within the company

Structural investment
- +Sprint (4 weeks acute stabilisation): from €2,900
- +Build (8 weeks structural anchoring): from €7,500
- +Retainer (3 months deep support): from €15,000
- +Gold+ (invite only) for complex high-risk profiles
Comparison: under 1 % of typical burnout direct costs
Prevention is not only the humanly right choice — it is the economically wiser one. But even if the numbers said otherwise: a person who does not break cannot be offset by any balance sheet. Responsibility begins before the harm, not after.
Three examples from real prevention work.
Anonymised. No logos. With substance.
“I had not yet collapsed. But I knew I was close.”
Sleep at 5 hours, irritability, relationship crumbling. A 4-week sprint — sleep architecture, nervous system, boundary clarity. No dramatic change on the outside — a very clear one on the inside. One year later: stable, clearer, better led.
“I would not have made it through another month. I knew it. But I could not get out.”
Eight weeks of Build during an ongoing restructuring. We rebuilt the system parallel to the crisis — sleep, energy periodisation, boundary-setting toward the board. Restructuring successfully completed. CFO stayed in office. Today structurally anchored differently.
“I thought I was handing over — and realised I was giving myself up. Nobody had told me that.”
Succession preparation over 12 months. Topics: identity detachment, recovery design, new life phase. Today chairman of the supervisory board, six months in the south, writing his book. No more symptoms — and a phase of life he describes as the best of his life.
The research we build on.
Method meets practice. Depth is mandatory.
Burnout prevention without a scientific foundation is lifestyle coaching. We work methodologically deep, evidence-based and at the level of current research.
From nervous-system research: polyvagal theory by Stephen Porges, somatic-experiencing elements by Peter Levine, HRV research (heart rate variability as a resilience indicator), the allostatic-load concept by Bruce McEwen.
From sleep research: Matthew Walker (UC Berkeley), sleep-cycle architecture, deep-sleep optimisation, chronotype adaptation, light-exposure protocols.
From sports science: Tudor Bompa (periodisation), Joe Friel (energy management for high performers), recovery speed as a trainable capacity.
From stress research: Robert Sapolsky (stress physiology), Bessel van der Kolk (trauma and the body's memory), Gabor Maté (the stress-disease connection).
From the behavioural level: BJ Fogg (Tiny Habits), James Clear (Atomic Habits), Cal Newport (Deep Work, boundary architecture).
From burnout research itself: Christina Maslach (Maslach Burnout Inventory), Demerouti (Job Demands-Resources Model).
We combine these sources pragmatically — what works for you stays in the system. What only sounds good is dropped.
